Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a nationally recognized training designed to equip adults with the skills to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in youth. This evidence-based program provides participants with the tools to support young people facing challenges and guide them to appropriate help.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • To be eligible, participants must reside, work, or volunteer in Cape May County.

  • Registration is required and must be completed at least two days before the training date.

  • For virtual training, participants must use a device with a working camera and microphone and have a stable internet connection.

  • Active participation throughout the training is required.

  • Two hours of online pre-work (sent by the instructor after registration) must be completed before the scheduled training date.

TRAINING DETAILS

  • The training is about 6 hours long, not including the 2 hours of pre-work requirement prior to the training date.

  • Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate valid for 3 years from the training date.

  • In-person training is available in addition to virtual training (held via Zoom). Please use the contact button below to request in-person training for your business/organization.
