Through local data, expert insight, and current drug trend information, attendees will gain practical knowledge to better support healthy youth development and prevention in our community.

Find out what Cape May County and New Jersey students think and believe about substance misuse and other risk and protective factors as we share highlights from the 2023 New Jersey Middle School Survey and 2026 Pride Survey. 


Understanding Drug Trends Locally: What Our Community Needs to Know to Protect Our Youth


Ken Hand will explore what substances are circulating in our community, how they are marketed to youth and their potential harms to teens. Topics will include the legal status and availability of hemp-derived products, an overview of kratom and where it is being sold, forensic analysis of street drugs to reveal what they really contain, and the growing danger of fake/clandestine/counterfeit tablets.
